As we come to the end of another week, and the mornings start to get darker, I'm starting to wonder if we even had a summer?
This week, our Year 7 students donned their smartest uniform to have their first Dorothy Stringer school photos. You will soon receive information if you would like to purchase your child's photo of them dressed to impress.
This week also marked the start of the sporting fixtures and a number of extra-curricular clubs. If your child hasn't signed up for a club yet, please encourage them to take up one of the many opportunities that Stringer has to offer.
Next week, on Thursday lunchtime we have our annual General Knowledge Quiz in the main hall. It's open to all years and we hope to see as many students as possible participate. There are prizes in all year groups and the four top scorers will go through to our school Mastermind competition, which will take place later in the school year.
It would also be wonderful to see as many students as possible taking part in the Big Choir, which sings at our Christmas Carol Service in December. Rehearsals are starting on Monday at 3.15 next week. All are welcome!
Just a reminder that it is Open Evening on Thursday 11th October so school will close at 12:10pm. There will be a late start the following day with students arriving to start period 2.
Have a good weekend and we look forward to seeing the students again bright and early Monday morning.
I hope you have a restful weekend.
