Welcome to this week's newsletter
A question to start this week's newsletter, what did we do before we had the internet? This week, the weather threw everything it had at us and as a consequence, we had no internet for nearly three whole days! Nothing was going to stop us however...
On Wednesday afternoon all Year 7 and 8 students braved the outdoors to take part in this year's Stringer Run. A massive thank you to all the students and staff for what was such a fantastic event, and a huge thank you to family and friends for sponsoring the students to help raise funds for our roof at Dolawen. The money is being counted, and we'll let you know soon how much was raised, hopefully enough to cover both dorms, and not just one!
Students will now be allowed to wear plain black leggings in place of tights if they find leggings are warmer or more comfortable. They will still have to wear a skirt over the top their leggings.
A reminder that Year 11 have their parents' evening on Thursday and therefore the school will close at 2:15pm. Any extra-curricular clubs will either run at the earlier time, or be cancelled. Please ask the students to check with their teachers about this. School will re-open normal time on Friday morning.
We have our fund-raising concert on Friday 23rd November to raise money to help repair storm damage at Dolawen, our outdoor education centre in Snowdonia. It promises to be an enjoyable evening which I hope you will be able to attend. Tickets will be on Monday.
Have a great weekend!
