Sunday 13th May 2018 – 11am to 4pm
Last year we held our first joint event combining the school's annual Open House with a Stringer Archive area and school tour's for ex-students. This proved very successful and a great opportunity for our ex-students to visit the school on one of the most vibrant days of the school calendar. So we are doing it again this year.
Not only will you see some wonderful students' art and design work but you will also see live performances from the Drama and Music Departments and be able to take part in some of the Environment Department's activities. It is truly a festival atmosphere with arts and crafts stalls from the local community and food and drink stalls too. What a better time to visit your old school; tour the school as it is now, revisit old memories, chat to other ex-students and perhaps share experiences over a cup of coffee and a piece of cake.
This year we will continue to organise an archive area in the training room (or once used as the milk or cycle shed, tuck shop or reprographics depending on your attendance dates); next to the block housing the main hall and heads office. The Stringer memorabilia or archive area is something we are trying to develop and would welcome new contributions. We also hope to have a video area so we can capture your memories and record how education and society has changed since the doors opened in 1955.
Although there is no entry charge for this event and therefore no tickets required, to help us plan the refreshments and numbers attending it would be helpful if you could let us know if you are planning to attend by using the contact details below. Also if you would like to book your place on a school tour please indicate which tour you would like to join. We plan to start tours at 11am and then hourly until 3pm, the time of the last tour.

Please help us by spreading the word. We would like to reach as many of our ex-Stringer students as possible so please do share this information with your friends via social media or good old word-of-mouth.
It would be lovely to see lots of you at this Open House/Reunion Event; the more the merrier. If you plan to attend please let your own contacts know that you are coming and roughly what time so you can plan to meet up. Other commitments may affect the time you could attend but we thought it might be useful to encourage ex-students to attend from 11.00am.
Kind regards to you all and I look forward to seeing you again.
