Stringer Diamond Anniversary Fund

Over the years we have often discussed setting up a fund to assist students who require temporary financial support through a difficult time. In honour of the 60th Anniversary of the school we set up a fund called the Stringer Diamond Anniversary Fund. The Fund will be used to support students where evidence is provided of exceptional circumstances and where no other funding sources are available.  The fund could pay for things like:

  • School visits and trips not funded by the school
  • Classroom materials and equipment not provided by the school
  • School uniform
  • After school activities – for example providing individual specialist equipment
  • Leavers' costs such as the Yearbook and Prom

This fund will be a charity and its accounts will be separate from the main school budget.  The Stringer Diamond Anniversary Fund Constitution is available on request.  The fund will be managed by a Fund Committee which will include the Headteacher and Senior pastoral staff who have a good knowledge of the students in their care.  These will include the Deputy Headteacher responsible for pastoral care and the Heads of School. A Parent Governor will also be on the committee. The Committee will be responsible for deciding on spending priorities.

The school will be looking at ways to grow and maintain this fund for our students now and in future.  This may be through individual donations and fund raising events.  We will also add a 2% voluntary donation to all school trips over £50 which will go into the Stringer Diamond Anniversary Fund.
