The Science Department offers a range of opportunities outside the classroom for students to become much more engaged in Science as a topic and see its wider application.

Within school the Department runs the STEM club each week for students to take part in a range of science activities and projects with outside speakers.  We also run a Science Leaders programme for students in year 9 who would like to take a lead role in STEM club and Science events.  As they progress to Year 11 it is expected that these students will become the Science Prefects who actively participate in the development and functioning of the department as a whole.

Alongside this there are a wide range of educational visits to sites of scientific interest including local universities, science events and speakers and technology parks and museums.

All opportunities are advertised to students via the School Learning Gateway and within the Department.
