The Science Department at Stringer believe that it is within Key Stage 3 that we start to create the true scientist in students.   From the moment students walk through our laboratory doors in Year 7 the emphasis is on developing their scientific thinking and core skills including problem solving, critical analysis and evaluation.  All of this is delivered through an independent and creative approach to teaching where the student takes the lead in their learning and the science teacher acts to facilitate that learning.

With well-equipped laboratories, the use of interactive software and the latest learning apps, students explore the key ideas of science including cells and habitats, particles and reactions, forces and energy.

Our Key Stage 3 Science is split across Years 7 and 8 and is delivered using the Oxford University Press 'Activate' Course, with content and assessment criteria updated in line with the new Key Stage 3 Curriculum.

Assessments of students' progress are undertaken regularly through a wide range of formative, interactive and summative approaches allowing our teachers to identify the specific needs of our individual students and how we can support their progression.

If you would like more information regarding our Key Stage 3 Science provision then please contact our Key Stage 3 Coordinator, Miss Booer via email
