assemblage and photography can be seen, as well as some beautiful sketchbooks.
There will also be work from other Years, including year 10 sculpture
in-progress, 9 ceramic animals and 'urban scene' inspired textiles, Year 8 Clay
insect reliefs and expressive landscapes and year 7 printing patterns.
"It is fantastic for our students to be part of what might
be their first exhibition. Being part of the Five Ways trail makes it
even more special as their work is viewed alongside that of artists and
designers who have much more experience. Many of whom are professional
artists. We are hoping that many visitors will come to the festival and
view the work that students have spent so long producing. We are very
proud of them" says Ms Fahy, Art Department.
'EARTH without ART is just EH' – A group of Year 7 students have
been exploring the discipline of Devising theatre and what it means to create
your own practical work independently. Using the same title, students have been
tasked to create a short scene that examines what the arts allow us to do and
achieve. Independently, students have created their scenes and they include a
range of movement pieces, theatre pieces, and even a little bit of singing. It
is a real celebration of young people being able to be creative and
demonstrating why the Arts are so important.
The Design and Technology department are delighted to be able to
show off the best of their students’ work this year and the Food Tech team will
have cakes for sale.
We hope for a variety of acoustic musical performances
throughout the day. A running order will be published soon.
